WASHINGTON CAMP 2024:
DATES AND LOCATION:
We have reserved the Brooks Memorial Retreat Center near Goldendale WA and the Columbia River Gorge. More grass to play on and more cabins!! It just might be the summer to bring back the slip and slide!
Additionally:
The retreat center has a fully outfitted industrial kitchen! We plan to have kitchen staff. Check out the retreat center website for all the details about campground rules and other awesome amenities.
We will continue to offer a community sourced program where both staff and campers contribute to creating a schedule of activities and sessions to support the community in living and learning NVC. Come join us in a supportive, fun, immersive experience for you and your family, whatever “family” means to you!

COSTS:
We do our very best to keep camp accessible while covering the costs of camp and using volunteer staff and paid staff. We hope to have camp be in the $550-650 range per person. And are open to fund raising ideas to support campers and volunteers. We also strive to cover food and lodging costs for volunteers, and even have some for travel if we can!
REGISTRATION:
Come back here to find the link to registration when it opens in January. The retreat center takes 72 -102 people. You are also welcome to email us at nvcfamilycamp@gmail.com with any questions. Minimum is 45 people (meaning we will be charged for 45 campers no matter how many we have).
Please read our COVID POLICY (might be updated or amended within the next month or two)
Please read our CANCELLATION POLICY
Here is our current Budget Document if meaningful.
VOLUNTEERS/STAFF:
If you’re interested in being on volunteer staff please fill out our volunteer application HERE. We will be connecting with staff after January 2025.
We ask that staff have a higher level of NVC integration, which might look like:
-
Involvement in living, sharing, knowing NVC in community over time.
-
Ability to self-empathize, empathize, express honestly while caring for impact and awareness of how you’re holding internal and external power/rank/influence.
-
Hosts and organizers having had a direct experience of the staff person having ability to be present with families while holding the needs of the whole camp and own needs with care.
-
Involvement in community practicing NVC and Restorative processes where there is giving and receiving feedback.
-
The ability, capacity and drive to contribute deeply to the service and needs of the camp community, and show up for commitments you have made, while proactively tending your needs while at camp.
We look forward to being in community again with you in summer 2025! And if you know a family that hasn’t experienced NVC family camp before, and might be interested, please share this info & webpage.
Camp organizers/hosts,
Jeremy Barnes, Marcia Christen, and Maren Metke
We're excited to be with y'all!
