What's new this year?
Smaller Camp! We're scaling down this year, aiming for camp communities of around 80 total participants, including families and staff. We're looking for that sweet spot where everyone gets to know everyone.
General Overview As always, we're planning a camp environment that supports intergenerational connection, community, autonomy, and shared holding among people of all ages, and offers opportunities for both staff and campers to share their abundant gifts.
Basic Daily Flow We'll be working and playing in a Community Generated environment. Morning and afternoon sessions will offer workshops and activities that are open to all ages, as well as those that will appeal to specific age groups. For example, there may be a building project or nature adventure for all ages, a NVC class that appeals more to adults and teens, a craft or theatre workshop that excites younger children and that some parents want to join.
We’ll be coming together after-breakfast and before-dinner in one big Community Circle, swimming in empathy opportunities, feasting on delicious meals (Chef Jefe’s coming back!) and regaling in our usual fun evening activities.
Mentorship Program Another opportunity we're carrying forward is the Mentorship Program. That will be a self-directed learning track, for Teens and Adults who want to create their own Program while at camp, working with Mentors, with the intention of individualized learning, mutual support from peers and mentors, and serving camp.
Private sessions & Mediations: Private sessions and mediations will be available to all participants with seasoned NVC trainers and counsellors. This is a wonderful opportunity to do some personal growth work, or to work through a tough conflict that's come between family members.
As you can see, camp again will be an exciting and ambitious undertaking! We hope you’re as excited about it as we are and are looking forward to joining us in working together to create another memorable Family Camp community experience!
